Koranen oppfordrer oss hele tiden til å påminne oss selv om og undre oss over skapelsen og dets kompleksitet. Her er bare tre eksempler på vers som fremhever hvor viktig det er å reflkertere over universet:

He subjected to you the night and day, and the sun and moon; and the stars are subjected by His command. Surely in that are signs for a people who understand (16:12)

Indeed, in the creation of the heavens and the earth and the alternation of the night and the day are signs for those of understanding (3:190). 

Do they not look at the camels - how they are created? And at the sky - how it is raised? And at the mountains - how they are erected? And at the earth - how it is spread out? (88: 17-20).

Or were they created by nothing, or were they the creators [of themselves]? Or did they create the heavens and the earth? Rather, they are not certain (52:35-36)
